I took a trip to a local lake to test out the new Dstyle RESERVE top water bait. The lure itself is a very lightweight bait to throw, so it is recommended that you throw it on ultra-light spinning tackle. If you prefer a bait casting rod it Is recommended that you throw the reserve on a light action rod with fairly light drag. Since it is designed to be throw on a spinning rod the hooks are very light wire. If you wish to upgrade decoy hooks is a great choice to change too. This top water bait is a small bait fish imitator. The bait is trying to resemble an injured bait fish on the surface. The translucent wings do a great job of causing commotion on the surface. If fish are in a neutral mood you can try a twitch-twitch pause retrieve to imitate a dying fish on the surface and be an easy meal for big bass.
